ABOUT

Kelvin Smith Jr Orthotics and Prosthetics

Kelvin is the founder of Clavon Clinic and completed his B.S. In Physical Education at the College of Charleston and completed his orthotics training at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Prosthetics-Orthotics Center. He began his residency at Children’s Hospital New Orleans (now Manning Family Children’s Hospital) and brings over 15 years of experience treating both pediatric and adult patients with a wide range of orthotic conditions.

His clinical interests include pediatric lower-extremity alignment—such as bowlegs (genu varum) and knock-knees (genu valgum)—as well as adolescent scoliosis. Drawing on over 15 years of clinical experience, he takes an education-first, collaborative approach—ensuring patients and families understand their condition while receiving clear, experienced guidance on the most appropriate treatment options. He works closely with physicians and rehabilitation providers to support optimal patient outcomes.

He has often been asked if he enjoys working in orthotics. He always replies, “I love helping people. Orthotics is just one way to help do that.”

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, cooking, reading, and board games.
